Emerald Textiles founded with a $20MM investment to build the most state-of-the-art, technologically advanced, environmentally responsible commercial laundry alternative in the industry located in San Diego, California. Emerald Textiles began by employing an experienced workforce and specialized controls to consistently exceed customer expectations and industry standards.

Emerald Textiles facility received the Savings by Design Award from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for saving approximately 120,000,000 gallons of water and over 750,000 therms of natural gas annually in San Diego county alone.

San Diego Gas & Electric awarded Emerald Textiles the Energy Champion Award at the annual SDG&E Energy Showcase in recognition of the company’s advanced design and energy efficiency.

Campus Laundry East, Legacy Encore Textiles, opened new facility in Turlock, California.

2014

Campus Laundry East, received Wastewater Award and was named Facility Of The Year in Northern California through the California Water Environmental Association.

Pacific Avenue Capital Partners acquires Associated Laundry Management (“ALM”) and Campus Laundry under the new company, Encore Textile Services (“Encore”) and occupy three facilities across Northern California and Nevada.

2018 (July)

Encore acquires Emerald Textiles, a San Diego-based healthcare linen service provider. The acquisition brings together the two largest independent healthcare laundry providers in California, with the combined entity having a total of five locations on the West Coast; all locations are rebranded as Emerald Textiles

Emerald acquires the assets of Mediclean Linen and Laundry, a Los Angeles-based healthcare linen services provider, expanding the footprint to six locations on the West Coast. Emerald immediately undertakes a complete “re-tooling” of the facility; more than $6M invested to upgrade equipment

Emerald acquires the assets of Staheli Laundry Services, a Saint George, Utah-based healthcare linen service provider. The acquisition allows the company to serve both the Southern Utah and Las Vegas markets.

Emerald invests more than $16M to build a state-of-the-art facility in Livingston, CA with the latest technology, equipment and infrastructure – started production in October 2019

Emerald acquires Angelica’s West Coast assets including 9 facilities in 3 states. The acquisition increases Emerald’s capacity to 560+ million pounds annual capacity. Emerald secures and installs $30 million of new business annually.

Emerald Textiles a world-class commercial company operating twelve processing facilities, three service centers, and serving customers as the largest acute healthcare linen service provider with commercial business operations in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.

Emerald Textiles future builds on investments in people, facilities, state-of-the-art equipment and technology, market expansion, increased business growth, and maintaining a keen focus on customer satisfaction.

Emerald Textiles was originally founded in 2010 in Otay Mesa of San Diego, California, as the first facility in 30 years to invest in the most advanced technology available to serve the San Diego market. The organization was formed with the vision to offer the most environmentally responsible healthcare laundry service, providing the highest levels of cleanliness and customer service. Emerald San Diego was the first facility of its caliber in advanced technology and design planning in the United States. Emerald Textiles began by employing an experienced workforce and specialized controls to consistently exceed customer expectations and industry standards.

In 2011, Emerald Textiles’ received the Savings by Design Award from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and San Diego Gas & Electric for energy conservation and savings. The new advanced technology, equipment, and utilities were all designed and implemented in an environmentally responsible manner, saving approximately 120,000,000 gallons of water and over 750,000 therms of natural gas annually. San Diego Gas & Electric also awarded Emerald Textiles the Energy Champion Award at the annual SDG&E Energy Showcase in recognition of the company’s advanced design and energy efficiency. Energy Champions saved more than 55 million kilowatt hours annually combined, an environmental and energy impact equivalent to removing more than 3,000 cars from the road.

As the business grew, Emerald added on a second location in Riverside and Los Angeles to serve major hospital networks throughout Southern California. In 2018, Emerald Textiles and Encore Textile Services in Northern California and Nevada merged as one company to service a wider breadth of growing markets under the same successful business model and mantra, Clean Matters™, as environmentally responsible facility operations that customers value. 

Today, Emerald Textiles is a world-class commercial company operating twelve processing facilities, two service depots, and serving nearly 2,000 customers as the largest acute healthcare linen service commercial business operating in California, Nevada, Utah and Phoenix. As Emerald continues to expand, our mantra remains the same: Clean Matters. Emerald continues to deliver consistent, high-quality products through a fully managed linen service program that meets today’s highest standards and demands in healthcare.
