LOS ANGELES, CA – Emerald Textiles™ (“Emerald” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Los Angeles-based private investment firm Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, LLC (“Pacific Avenue”), took part in the first-ever Laundry Hill Day that was held on Capitol Hill on the final day of TRSA’s (Textile Rental Services Association) 15th Annual Legislative Conference (January 15 – 17). Emerald Textiles was represented at the event by Andy Kratky, Chief Executive Officer of Emerald Textiles. The event featured a total of 110 attendees and 142 meetings with members of Congress and/or key staff members.

Executives from the linen, uniform, and facility services industry spoke with members of Congress and staffers to convey the importance of signing on to a letter to Maryann D’Allessandro at the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) requesting she issue an NPPTL Workplace Solutions document recommending that healthcare facilities maintain a 50% operating threshold of reusable healthcare contact textiles (HCTs). This would enhance worker and patient safety, reduce the impact of supply-chain reductions, and offer a cost-effective strategy to save healthcare facilities money.

“It was a pleasure to participate in the TRSA Laundry Hill Day and to convey our message of reusable healthcare textiles being a positive impact on the environment while safeguarding and protecting the healthcare workers and patients,” said Kratky. “We are excited to continue working with TRSA and our California representatives on this important effort.”

TRSA President and CEO Joseph Ricci added that, “Involving several nation linen and uniform services organizations helps the industry better represent its full depth while enhancing collaboration. Our goal is for the industry to speak with a single, unified voice on issues impacting the expansion and protection of the industry by addressing common challenges and advocating more effectively for policies that benefit all members.”
